Oneness with Christ is like glue that ought to hold us together

John 17:21-23

“That they may all be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us…”

One with Christ is to be in union with Christ. By faith, a continual action of believing and not just a one-time thing, this union holds us together for justification, sanctification, and glorification (Rom 8:29,30). This is the process of regeneration (Col 3:10), that conforms us to Christ’s moral likeness. Our oneness with Christ is like glue that ought to hold us together, and this is accomplished by filling the mind with the Word. Union with Christ is in and through the Word richly dwelling in us (John 15:1-11; Col 3:16).

To be one with Christ is to be one with God (John 17:20,21), united in the deepest possible and holy relationship. It is only through Christ that this is possible. We cannot have the one without the other because they are ONE. This is where the marriage analogy becomes such a beautiful lesson for us! But, there is a difference between the ability to describe our marital relationship and actually having that marital relationship. It is not the same thing. Our actions are the proof if our faith is real.

To be one with Christ is not just the physical aspect of being baptised into Christ, it is so much more. It follows with the application of the spiritual oneness (1Cor 6:11), which if disobeyed, we will fail. There is no “one-ness,” natural or spiritual. The two cannot be separated, and if they are, there is no oneness, Scripturally speaking.

It is beyond amazing how God so desires for us to be one with Him in the same relationship He has with His son, made possible only by actually being one with Christ! Being one is a beautiful concept when applied Scripturally, and to use it in any other way is to cheapen it.

When the Father looks at us, does He see Christ in us?

Our journey is to come to this realisation of how the Father sees us according to His truth. This is where Jesus comes in to guide us along this journey that our destination with him be also our destination with the Father.

Jean 17: 21-23

“Afin qu’ils soient tous un; comme toi, Père, tu es en moi et moi en toi, afin qu’eux aussi soient un en nous…”

Un avec Christ, c’est être en union avec Christ. Par la foi, une action continuelle de croire et pas seulement une chose ponctuelle, cette union nous maintient ensemble pour la justification, la sanctification et la glorification (Romains 8:29,30). C’est le processus de régénération (Col 3, 10), qui nous conforme à la ressemblance morale du Christ. Notre unité avec Christ est comme de la colle qui devrait nous maintenir ensemble, et cela s’accomplit en remplissant l’esprit de la Parole. L’union avec Christ est dans et par la Parole qui habite richement en nous (Jean 15: 1-11; Col 3: 16).

Être un avec Christ, c’est être un avec Dieu (Jean 17:20,21), unis dans la relation la plus profonde et la plus sainte possible. Ce n’est que par Christ que cela est possible. Nous ne pouvons pas avoir l’un sans l’autre parce qu’ils ne font qu’UN. C’est là que l’analogie du mariage devient une si belle leçon pour nous! Mais, il y a une différence entre la capacité de décrire notre relation conjugale et d’avoir réellement cette relation conjugale. Ce n’est pas la même chose. Nos actions sont la preuve si notre foi est réelle.

Être un avec Christ n’est pas seulement l’aspect physique d’être baptisé en Christ, c’est tellement plus. Il s’ensuit avec l’application de l’unité spirituelle (1Cor 6:11), qui si nous désobéissons, nous échouerons. Il n’y a pas d ‘ “unicité”, naturelle ou spirituelle. Les deux ne peuvent pas être séparés, et s’ils le sont, il n’y a pas d’unité, scripturairement parlant.

C’est au-delà de l’incroyable comment Dieu désire tellement que nous soyons un avec Lui dans la même relation qu’Il a avec Son fils, rendue possible seulement en étant réellement un avec Christ! En être un est un beau concept lorsqu’il est appliqué scripturairement, et l’utiliser de toute autre manière revient à le déprécier.

Quand le Père nous regarde, voit-il le Christ en nous?

Notre voyage est d’arriver à cette réalisation de la façon dont le Père nous voit selon Sa vérité. C’est là que Jésus intervient pour nous guider tout au long de ce voyage afin que notre destination avec lui soit aussi notre destination avec le Père.
